Successful law students quickly learn that attending case method lectures and reading their casebooks impedes their ability to succeed in law school. As one prominent law professor explains, “law students who perform well on exams often instinctively learn that attendance in the case method class is not particularly important for them to succeed on their exams, and these…students, as well as others, often stop attending daily law school classes.” 70 U Cin L Rev 13… More >>

The Siri Method is the answer on how to succeed in law school and achieve better grades with minimal effort. This book shows you how to study and outline for exams and how to answer the different types of exam questions. I was one of those students who sat through class lectures, who read the casebooks and tried to brief every case in preparation for class. Despite all that effort, I still didn’t get the grades I wanted. Had I known about the Siri Method, I would have saved myself a lot of time and effort (and gotten better grades!).

As a lawyer working in an international NY firm, I can tell you this book is a great read. Well-written, dry humor navigates the confusing world of what to expect in law school. In hindsight, there was no real correlation between those hard workers (who read before class, after class, after lunch, after dinner, and well into the night, briefing every case along the way) and all of the students at the top of the class. This book tells you realistically what to expect in your lecture hall classes, with a proposed method for succeeding without losing your marbles. Great read for anyone who wants to know what lurks ahead for 1L’s, or for anyone who has already survived the race.
